More Hospitality Appointments at Sheepfolds Stables

The soon-to-open Sheepfolds Stables has announced the appointment of Sam Hufton as Deputy Manager ahead of its official launch on Friday 02 August.

Sam Hufton who has now been appointed Deputy Manager at Sheepfolds Stables in Sunderland which is due to open on Friday 02 August.

The hotly anticipated food, drink, events and entertainment venue is tipped to become the go-to social and leisure destination for Sunderland and surrounding areas. It will offer an eclectic mix of high-quality independent hospitality operators along with a regular line up of entertainment listings, social, business and pop-up events, and host special occasions including weddings and private parties.

Sam, from London, brings more than ten years’ experience at the highest level to Wearside having worked in the City and across Europe for renowned and high-volume multi-venue sites. This includes award-winning bars, restaurants, theatres and micro-breweries, successfully managing hospitality teams in popular high footfall and high-pressure environments.

His expertise spans both front and back-of-house and he will now be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the main bar and social areas within Sheepfolds Stables. Sam will lead a team of 40 plus full and part time service staff currently being recruited.

Sheepfolds Stables dates back more than 140 years and has been creatively reimagined and transformed into a prime leisure destination by leading architecture and engineering practice, Building Design Northern (BDN). Operators now confirmed include I Scream for Pizza, Vito’s Osteria, The Calabash Tree, Ember, Mother Mercy and Spey Snug. The development is also home to the award-winning and contemporary, Southpaw Dance Company, with others coming soon.
