Frequently Asked Questions

Opening hours – regular site opening times for Sheepfolds Stables are Sunday-Thursday from 8am-11pm and Friday-Saturday from 8am-1am (individual operators may vary - please refer to their own website for more details).

Parking – parking is available at SAFC’s Stadium of Light (free of charge), only a two-minute walk from Sheepfolds Stables. Please note this is not available on home match days and alternative parking should be found during these times - a pay and display car park can be found on Easington Street, next to Sheepfolds Stables and nearby street parking is available (via the Ringo parking app). There is no parking at the entrance directly outside the venue (bays are restricted to deliveries/loading only).

The nearest Tyne and Wear Metro station is St. Peter’s (next to Wearmouth Bridge) and this is only a few minutes’ walk away. Local bus routes can also available at The Wheatsheaf.

Accessibility – Sheepfolds Stables can be accessed via the main front gates on Easington Street. Our food, drink and entertainment venues are all situated at ground floor level and are wheelchair accessible. There is a lift to first floor event spaces with accessible toilets available on both floors. The main entrance and courtyard areas have original cobble pathways as well as paved social/seating areas. If assistance is needed, please speak with or email a member of our management team who will be happy to advise and support any specific requirements.

Please note that there may, on occasions, be flash or strobe lighting as part of events.

Enquiries – for enquiries please contact the following:

All restaurant enquiries and bookings must be made directly with the individual operators – please visit their websites/social media channels (links to each operator are available on the home page of the website). Whilst walk-ins are accepted if available, bookings are strongly advised.

General entry - you do not need to book to come to Sheepfolds Stables.  Everyone is welcome. Some events may be ticket only and links to purchase these if required will be shown as part of the event listing (please see 'what's on' page). SAFC away matches shown on the big screen (Sky Sports) do not require tickets and are extremely popular!

Bookings - Spey Snug is available by booking only and this can be done via the booking system on the home page of the website. Similarly, booths and tables in the main bar areas can also be reserved via the same booking system.

Age policies (Sheepfolds Stables and courtyards) – families and children are very welcome at Sheepfolds Stables. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult/parent/legal guardian aged 25+ years at all times due to the site being a licensed premises. We ask that the latest time children are in the main social and courtyard areas is 10pm from Monday-Thursday, and 9pm from Friday to Sunday (should children are part of any restaurant bookings that occur after these licensable times, we ask that they leave the site on departure thereafter).

Bars – all bar areas at Sheepfolds Stables operate a cashless/contactless system.

Entry policies – only food and drink purchased at Sheepfolds Stables can be consumed on the premises. The venue operates a 'Challenge 25' scheme, therefore if you look 25 years old or younger you may be asked for photographic identification as proof of age; this can be either passport or driving license. Please ensure you have this available on request to avoid any disappointment.

Dogs – dogs are welcome at Sheepfolds Stables until 8pm (please note that this is within the main social and seating areas, not necessarily individual restaurants). All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Photography – please note that Sheepfolds Stables may use photographs and video footage captured during opening hours and events (which show customers) for marketing, online and publicity purposes.
